Personal attributes and interests Appreciation of the intricacies of Latin has furnished me with a sound foundation in language and instilled care and attention to detail. Involvement with the effect of the written word in the advertising world has ensured that I keep pace with the continual evolvement of English and, especially, the changes in business writing. Writing something in as clear and succinct a way as possible is an exciting challenge for me. Commendations received during my professional careers both as a teacher and editor have been not only for sustained high achievement but also for initiative, clarity of thought and directness. I am ambitious and innovative, and have been praised for my drive, determination and enthusiasm. I strive for perfection, am extremely fastidious and cope well under pressure. All these aspects substantiate WHY I STAND OUT from competitors in this field and WHAT MAKES ME DIFFERENT from so many run-of-the-mill editors. I believe in the power of words. Provide a written piece from any form of printed or electronically conveyed media, and I will find errors and improve it! Personal interests revolve around creativity and independence of thought. Essentially absorbing is my artistic inclination towards pencil sketching and painting of portraits, and my work is displayed in my home. Musical likes are all-encompassing, involving the collection and compilation of an extensive library ... from all-time favourite Mike Oldfield and the delightfully intricate sounds of Andreas Vollenweider to pop artistes too numerous to mention. Reading has obviously included a range of authors; having undertaken a brief course in journalism, I have enjoyed writing scripts for plays, some poetry, several unpublished short stories and a great deal of original copy, including innumerable, very different greeting cards.
